URGENT!!!!: fake security alert virus!?

I think my computer is infected right now idk what happened. I accidently allowed one of the fake security alert popups and it lead me to weird things and I figured it was fake. and now more popups that are posing as windows security is coming up and now my firefox(which used to work because i had problems with the internet) won't even open because the "vista security 2012 firewall alert" popup comes up and tells me to activate it. so...basically I can't do anything on my computer without encountering that stupid popup and at this point I'm REALLY REALLY frustrated and is willing to do anything that will fix this....please help. I looked at some other yahooanswers but I can't even get web access on my desktop (I'm using my laptop right now-virus free so its working) so I can't download any antiverus programs or anything. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP! ANY TECHIES OUT THERE!

Do you ever find creative writers working in the information tech field?

I would imagine all kinds of people go into this field that are artists first and techies second (or a good mixture of both). I'm an artist but I'm also an analytical person; I suppose you could say I have a pretty good balance of the left and right sides of my brain. Is it just stereotyping that would keep someone from thinking IT and computer science people couldn't also be great artists, too? Thoughts?

first of all the measurement of a thumb drive is in gigabytes (GB) not gigahertz (ghz), sounds like what youre trying to plug in is a wireless adapter for a mouse or a microphone, the mouse or microphone etc is not switched on thats why your computer doesnt recognize it. Basically that is not a thumb drive, its a usb plug from a wireless component

Usually the answer to fixing this comes with uninstalling the drivers for your HP printer, rebooting, and then reinstalling them using your printer DVD. Unfortunately, HP does not provide a download for this particular driver.

if you want something truly energy efficient, why not rent and indian doli or wedding palaki. they are fabulous ornate and beautifully carved wooden vehicles which are hand carried. you would need some strong guys to be able to carry them for a mile, but they make a great romantic and totally energy free and emission free form of transportation. you can rent them in most large cities.

Poo'd myself on stage?

Today, I was performing for the school beginning of term play, and I had the lead singing role. While I was singing, I felt the urge to fart, and so I began to squeeze my buttocks in the hope of silencing the fart. I then let out a silent fart, and may I tell you, it stank, so I tried to move away from the fart. Having done this, I felt the urge to fart again, but this time, I couldn't hold it in and I let rip while singing a high note. The echoing sound of my tremendous fart filled the hall as four or five fresh pieces of poo slithered down my legs and onto the floor. I then decided to run off of the stage, but while doing so, I felt the urge to fart yet again, and an even louder blast filled the hall as I ran down the side of the stage. I ran into the toilets and started crying, then my mum came and took me home. How can I face going to school tomorrow? I am extremely embarrased. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. HDTV as Computer Monitor Problem?

Hi everybody, I'm having a problem with using my HDTV as my computer monitor, I tried to use this tv as a monitor before with my other computer and I had the same problem, basically what happens is when I hook it up to my computer using either VGA or HDMI the picture quality is really bad and all the text is really hard to read etc. I've tried different resolutions and refresh rates and played with the settings on my tv and I have had no such luck, hopefully some techie on here could help out. The TV I am trying to use is TOSHIBA RC-3910. my Gpu is Nvidia GTX 570 and on my other computer a GTS 250. Thanks.
