Um can I practice UNIX on my computer w/ LINUX UBUNTU or something?

I have a laptop w/ Linux Ubuntu or something like that. But it can't connect to the internet. Would I be able to practice UNIX commands on it somehow...? Pls help me out as Google search has rendered really techie results that I cannot comprehend...thank ya!
